Germaine Guérin Advert, 1923
The Story
The 1923 Wallet on Strap
Inspired by a model featured in a 1923 publication, this wallet‑pouch pays tribute to one of the first models Germaine Guérin created. At a time when accessories were becoming declarations of style, the Maison was already asserting a singular vision: precise lines, balanced proportions, and functional elegance.
More than a simple wallet, the pouch according to Germaine Guérin is an object of character, designed to accompany movement and enhance one’s silhouette. Every detail reflects a heritage where decorative art converses with function, true to the creator’s pioneering spirit. An enduring savoir‑faire, reinterpreted today without ever betraying its origin.

HOW TO WEAR

THE LEATHER MOMENT
CALFSKIN LEATHER
The quality of leather lies in its grain, which is why we only use full-grain leather.
Our goatskin stands out with its beautifully textured grain and a subtle sheen that highlights the natural characteristics of the goatskin. Its firm and substantial feel, along with a slightly dry and textured touch, makes it easy to care for. Over time, it softens and develops a satin finish, gaining in smoothness and radiance.

Germaine Guérin Wrapping
Since the 1950s, our boxes have drawn inspiration from the iconic colours of the Paris Métropolitain and its famous entrances designed by Hector Guimard: the muted green of sculpted cast iron and the vanilla yellow known as the “cornichon” (gherkin).
All of our boxes and paper bags are made in France, as are the silk paper and the Germaine Guérin ribbon. The 100% cotton dust bag that protects our handbags is made in Italy.
