The Nabab compact wallet
The word “Nabab” comes from far back. It once referred to those lavish figures returning from the East, excessively wealthy yet often marked by a certain aristocratic restraint. Almost novel‑like characters whose fortune did not need to be displayed to be felt.
At Germaine Guérin, the Nabab is never loud. It favours restraint over ostentation, intention over excess. A compact wallet, designed to hold only the essential and to remind us that the surest form of elegance is often the one that stays discreet.

GOATSKIN LEATHER
The quality of leather lies in its grain, which is why we only use full-grain leather.
Our goatskin stands out with its beautifully textured grain and a subtle sheen that highlights the natural characteristics of the goatskin. Its firm and substantial feel, along with a slightly dry and textured touch, makes it easy to care for. Over time, it softens and develops a satin finish, gaining in smoothness and radiance.
The Germaine Guérin Wrapping
Since the 1950s, our boxes have drawn inspiration from the iconic colours of the Paris Métropolitain and its famous entrances designed by Hector Guimard: the muted green of sculpted cast iron and the vanilla yellow known as the “cornichon” (gherkin).
All of our boxes and paper bags are made in France, as are the silk paper and the Germaine Guérin ribbon. The 100% cotton dust bag that protects our handbags is made in Italy.
